About
KWASSIE Art Studio is an artist-run studio that hosts group and individual art classes.
KWASSIE’s group classes focus on fine arts techniques – watercolour, acrylic painting, collage, drawing and sculpting. You will learn technique and theory from professional artists in a supportive and cozy environment.
Whether you haven’t painted since you were a kid, or want to freshen up your creative side, the instructors will focus on your individual needs to grow your creative confidence!
The story about KWASSIE.
KWASSIE means “little paintbrush” in Afrikaans. It also sounds like “quasi”. It is a little nod to KWASSIE’s founder Isidora’s childhood spent in South Africa. The top of the logo looks like a “K” and represents the foundation of the rest of the logo which has an irregular diamond-like shape. It is meant to inspire and suggest that everyone has a creative diamond inside of them waiting to be discovered.
Mission & Team
Our mission is to show you the transformative power creativity as mindfulness can have in your daily life. Painting is often considered active meditation, by keeping a steady focus on coordinating your hands, eyes and continually engaging you in learning something new. We want you to have fun and unwind by getting away from screens and the hustle of daily life for a little bit!
KWASSIE hosts workshops by many guest instructors, experts in their fields, so there is always a new technique to explore!
Isidora Krstic
KWASSIE FOUNDER&CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Isidora brings her 15+ years in the professional art world, two art degrees (Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade & Master in Art and Science from Universität der angewandte Kunst Wien), multiple art awards as well as extensive knowledge of fine arts techniques. After guest teaching in art studios and tutoring, she decided to found KWASSIE Art Studio in 2022 out of a desire to introduce creativity as a method of self-care.
Isidora’s specialty at KWASSIE is Watercolour Painting and you can attend a longer watercolour course or evening Watercolour&Wine workshop with her!

Mafalda Figueiredo
KWASSIE’S GUEST INSTRUCTOR
Mafalda is a professional artist from Portugal, specializing in oil painting. Her work delves into themes of identity, symbolism, and memory, with a strong emphasis on self-representation. Having lived and exhibited in Berlin, London, and most recently Vienna, she brings 10 years of experience to her craft. Passionate about guiding others on their creative journeys, Mafalda believes that everyone can benefit from self-reflection, and she is dedicated to helping others develop their own projects with her insight and expertise.
Mafalda’s specialty is figurative drawing and painting and she is currently instructing our Drawing Courses at KWASSIE! You can attend the upcoming Drawing Essentials for Beginners instructed by Mafalda.
